Treasure Island is a three part event.  Part one will be a ‘warm up’ in one large group, playing pirate games that will get the students ready for the events of the day.  Part two will be in different teams (of 6 to 10 students each, depending on class sizes) accomplishing explorer and pirate themed problem solving exercises to earn rewards (cannons) for the entire team.  Part three will be as one entire team.  This way, there is no competition, and therefore no ‘split’ of the team/class – everyone is working towards a common goal. Teams will then come back together with their ‘rewards’ (cannons) where they will be combined and used to launch at a large target, the target must be hit to accomplish the overall goal.

Treasure Island was designed for students’ ages 10 and 11 but can be beneficial to all ages.
