REEL PADDLING FILM festival

Since 2006, the Paddling Film Festival World Tour has been showcasing the very best paddling films. To watch the 2021 best paddling movies click below!  A portion of the movie fees will be donated directly to the Youth Outdoor Recreation Society, helping youth in the Okanagan stay active outdoors, creating future stewards of the land!

Covering 8 breweries and 5 eateries, this 10K walk/run is a stunner!  Starting at our first micro brew and winding your way past the river channel, lake shore, downtown, through vineyards and along a historical railway bed overlooking the valley to D’Angelo Family Estate for live music, amazing energy and friends, this event is a must-do of the year!

This new trail running race covers either 1 or 3 stunning peaks of beautiful Big White Ski Resort. 

The one peak course covers approximately 12kms of trail while the 3 peaks cover 30-35kms!  From village to dirt road, single track to lakes, ridges and amazing mountain views, this event has it all. 

Adapted to follow all physical distancing and safety protocols, we are excited to offer this amazing event this 2021 season!

Bighorn Bushwhack adventure race

Are you looking for a goal to train for this winter?
Are you new to Adventure racing and want to give it a go?
Have you registered for Expedition Canada and need a little race to warm up before the big event?

We are excited to present our newest little race, The Bighorn Bushwhack 8hr Adventure Race on July 25th, 2021.

Solos and Teams of 2 must complete the course by navigating to check points using the maps provided.

Course navigation will be achievable by all experience levels. Teams with more experience will have the option to go find more advanced checkpoints (optional).

HOODOO ADVENTURE RACING CAMP

Summer Camp August 14-15th 2021

Have you been intrigued by Expedition Canada? Have you been watching The World’s Toughest Race on Amazon? If you are thinking of giving adventure racing a go or if you just want a weekend full of adventures check this camp out. Over the two days we will go over all the disciplines that you can encounter in adventure racing including Orienteering, Rappelling, Climbing, Trekking, MTBiking and Paddling. We will also go over tips, equipment and strategies when it comes to racing.

Adapted to follow all physical distancing and safety protocols, we are excited to offer this amazing camp this 2021 season!

BC Wild’s Expedition Race that involves Trekking, Running, MTBiking, Paddling, some ropes and all of this while navigating with a map and a compass covering over 400kms in 4,5 days in a team of 4. Join us to experience a once in a life time adventure in our wonderful backyard. 

September 29th-October 3rd, 2021

The Santa Run will look different in 2020.  We are partnering with schools this year.  It’s all about the kids and being active our outdoors!  Contact us for more information on how you can get involved. 

Kick off the holiday season November 28th with friends & family from your school’s community. Run or walk the kids fun run (1km or 5km). The Youth Outdoor Recreation Society and its sponsors value the benefits outdoor programming brings to local youth. With some draw prizes, race prizes, workplace retreats up for grabs, and so much more. Don’t be a Grinch and join us November 28th 2020 and get active for outdoor programming!


Hoodoo Ski Tour & Snowshoe CLINICS

Join us at Apex Mountain Resort to experience a wide range of activities during our First Edition of the Hoodoo Ski Tour and Snowshoe Clinics. Avalanche awareness clinics, beginner initiation tours, intermediate beacon search and tour, snowshoe tours and our incredible tours under the stars with dinner and wine at the amazing Gunbarrel Saloon. Whether you are a beginner, enthusiast or professional, the festival will have something for you. Bring your skis, split board or snowshoes and join in on the fun!!

Boodoo's haunted adventure!

Two Epic races ascending and descending over 10,000 feet of elevation, raising thousands of dollars to get youth outdoors. Each race has 6 stages, one goes up, one comes down. Solos and teams of up to 7 people compete to become the king of the mountain.

Welcome to our Virtual Adventure Challenge. By Registering for this event, you are supporting the Youth Outdoor Recreation Society, which will help us get kids outside as soon as we are able… and we are sure our youth are going to need more green time and less screen time, now more than ever before!
