Penticton and the Okanagan Region
ADVENTURE. COMMUNITY. CONNECTION.
It’s been a challenging summer for our region.
Wildfires, smoke and uncertainty have disrupted holidays, businesses, events, camps and some of those simple summer moments we look forward to all year.
Through it all, we’ve been reminded why community matters so much.
We’ve watched people help neighbors, support local businesses, check in on one another and find ways – big and small – to make a difference. And whenever it has been safe to do so, we’ve kept doing what we know how to do: getting people outside and bringing them together.
Because we believe time in nature matters. Adventure matters. Local businesses and events matter. And giving kids a chance to paddle, ride, climb, laugh and simply be kids matters too.
As our region moves through the weeks ahead, please continue to respect local advisories and give affected communities the space they need. And when communities say they’re ready, come back.
Book the trip. Stay the night. Eat local. Visit the shops. Join an event. Hire a guide. Bring the kids outside. Explore somewhere new.
Sometimes it’s easy to feel helpless when the challenges around us seem so big. But there is always something we can do.
This is what we can do. And we’ll keep doing it.

Myra Canyon to Penticton on the KVR My family took the shuttle and rented bikes from Hoo Doo Adventures. The online booking was flawless, the bikes could’ve been better oiled (squeaky) but otherwise, we had no complaints. We stopped at Chute Lake Lodge for lunch and we highly recommend it. Myra Canyon is great but my favorite was the Naramata Bench. read moreread lesscharlie4814 8/29/2019
Custom cycle tour from Chute Lake to Naramata My team and I did an end of summer adventure with Hoodoo adventures. We rode from Chute Lake back to Naramata. It was an amazing, entertaining and scenic afternoon. We had people in our team who had not ridden a bike since they were little and our guide Sean helped guide them through the bike and gears. Everyone had a great time and I look forward to taking visitors on the tour in the future! read moreread lessSusan R 8/23/2019
Anniversary adventure A huge thank you to Hoodoo Adventure Company for a fantastic afternoon of kayaking, wine tasting and picnicking. The excursion was booked as part of our 20th anniversary celebration. We were hoping to do something special and were not disappointed.
A huge shout out goes to our guide, Julian. From the moment the boats were on the water we knew we were in good hands. He was very attentive, knowledgeable, and informally formal. He considered our personal preferences when choosing wineries to visit and invoked a very casual and relaxed ambience. It was a pleasure to have him lead our adventure.
The picnic was delicious, the wine tasting fantastic, and the kayaking relaxing.
Finally a huge thank you to the owner Mike for offering such a lovely adventure and having such amazing staff. It was a pleasure meeting you.read moreread less - Emily K 8/20/2019

Bike rental and shuttle My wife and I rented bikes and took a chute lake shuttle with hoodoo. The check-in went super smooth, the gear was ready to go and in great shape and the shuttle was friendly and timely. I would definitely use this company again, I found the staff to be organized, passionate and friendly! We were a little unprepared so grabbed some provisions at chute lake lodge, the place still has a tonne of character but is much nicer than the last time I was there ~ 4 years ago. I definitely want to try staying there next time. Thanks for a great experience. read moreread lessJohnnycinqo 8/18/2019

Chute Lake Shuttle I took advantage of Hoodoo’s shuttle service to take family up to chute lake and ride the 45 km downhill into Penticton. I’m always looking for something unique to The area to do when I have guests and Hoodoo never disappoints. Thrilled that this shuttle service makes this picturesque ride accessible to more people. Thanks for all you do Hoodoo. read moreread lessS L 8/16/2019
Family friendly guided climbing tour We loved our half day climbing at Skaha bluffs. Our awesome guide (I waited to long to review and forgot his name – he’s a student at Thompson Rivers) picked out a great spot in the shade so that even on a hot summer day we were comfortable. We have vastly different climbing levels/experience/ages but were all climbing outside for the first time. He worked very well with every person in the group. The equipment was in great shape, safety rules were clear and it’s hard to beat the location. The four hours flew by. We will be back for more next time we are in Penticton. Thanks for the great climbing and sorry I forgot your name! read moreread lessWalliams 8/15/2019
